Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) launches a new digital home loan refinancing service.
Underpinned by Berlin-based software-as-a-service (SaaS) cloud banking platform Mambu and developed by the bank’s venture arm x15ventures, Unloan will allow the bank’s customers to complete home loan refinancing applications in as little as 10 minutes; CBA has said.
Initially limited to customers who are only looking to refinance loans, the service is expected to be extended to new home loans sometime this year. Users of the service will also incur a loyalty discount that increases every year for 30 years.
CBA’s partnership with Mambu will enable the assembly of independent components, systems, and connectors to meet business needs and end-user demands.
CBA’s chief architect Brendan Harrap describes the selection of Mambu as “an investment in future-proofing CBA” as the bank continues its effort to “digitally transform our suite of CBA Group brands.”
Harrap describes the platform as allowing CBA “to bring in best-in-class solutions from other high-performing fintechs and vendors” and “build financial solutions that meet the demands and expectations of our customers.”
Mambu’s CRO Werner Knoblich confirms the “profound shift” in what customers want from financial providers, and that the platform is “excited to be working with CBA as it takes this next leap into the digital future.”
